Agharta and Pangaea are two of Davis' best concerts of the 1970s. But the full sets have never been released in the U.S. A great boxed set would feature ALL of the material recorded on the 1975 Japan tour, the released concerts from February 1st (in unedited form), along with the other concerts from January 22nd and 23rd, as well as February 7th and 8th. As far as I know, these have never been officially released.

A fair batch was issued a few years ago, but this was less that half of the back catalogue. It's just sitting there, an unfinished project.

I know (since I used to work on reissues for major labels) that rights are often an issue, particularly with videos, but I'd love to see CD+DVD greatest hits packages created, particularly of '80s artists. Bands such as The Outfield, Men At Work (I own an Australian version like this), The Romantics, 'til tuesday, Cock Robin (a stretch, I know...), A Flock of Seagulls, Thompson Twins, Psychedelic Furs...you get the picture!

There should be another Miles Davis boxed set featuring all his 1980s studio and live recordings, including previously unreleased alternates takes. It should bring together all the albums: Man with the Horn, We Want Miles, Miles! Miles Miles! Star People, Decoy, You're Under Arrest, Aura. Plus any other previously unreleased studio and live recordings. The final disc could feature the abandoned recording sessions from 1978.

Bob Dylan Live 1966 DVD [updated]

The "Albert Hall" concert from 1966 is considered by many (including me) to be the greatest live album ever made. Watching Eat The Document convinced me that seeing the man at work was even better than just hearing him, and the footage in No Direction Home was a revelation; it's just staggeringly good and desrved to be the centre-piece of the film. In particular the full version of Like A Rolling Stone from Newcastle is jaw-dropping - listen to it with no picture and it sounds amazing, but watching Dylan grimace, twitch and grin through the performance so emotively lifts it to a category on its own. I know of no other single performance better than this one. The acoustic material, which never particularly thrilled me when listening to it, turns out to be completely transfixing when viewed, by the way that Dylan inhabits these songs and brings them to life. The heart bleeds to know that there is more of this footage in the archives. I've considered claiming a terminal illness in order to persuade Sony to let me watch it in a secret bunker somewhere before I die, but that would be selfish. It would be much fairer to the rest of the world if Sony were to release a DVD of all available footage, or at least a concert-worth of material. I'm certain that this would then go down as the greatest live DVD ever released (and I could die happy).

I work on a fan website for this band and can document hundreds of requests from fans wanting to purchase this album. The price range on Amazon for new, sealed albums is $25 - $100+. We have a new website launching soon, and the only thing missing is the ability to share and sell the music. We will feature this forum and hope the idea gets a lot of votes! The related band Bakers Pink (1993 Epic) should also be reissued. People love this music and think it sounds fresh and viable to this day. Thank you.

I think every legacy recordings release, whatever it may be, should be an SACD Hybrid. It's a shame how Sony have neglected their own wonderful format. Next year's the 10th anniversary coming up so it's about time Sony release som more pop/rock music on this format. Preferably multi-ch. SACD rules!

This show was recorded by Pye records for Columbia in 1964. Bob Dylan's first major U.K. show, and it exists gathering dust in Columbia's vaults in apprently stunning quality in terms of performance and sound. It's rumoured that it was mastered for possible release in 2006 as a bonus freebie with 'Modern Times' but then scrapped. Although we have the official 'Live 1964' release, this is significantly different in terms of the set played - first ever performance of 'Mr. Tambourine Man', 'Restless Farewell', 'It Ain't Me Babe' with an extra verse that has never been heard?!? I think this would be a great 'collectors' release - perhaps it could be made available as a offer through the official bobdylan.com website?

I believe he released mono mixes of everything from 'Round About Midnight to Nefertitti. An additional disc collecting any single edits could round out the package. Similar to what you did with their first two albums (Business As Usual & Cargo) in 2003. This is a very underrated album and shouldn't of been missed out when you released the "Men At Work" remastered & expanded editions in 2003.

This was the concert tour that helped to catapult Michael Jackson into stardum. This tour was special in for so many reasons. It was the last tour with his brothers before his first solo tour (BAD). Also, it was the tour that helped to catapult Michael Jackson into megastardum. Many, including myself, would love to finally see the Victory Tour on DVD! It was one of the biggest tours in history.

I would love to see Percy Faith's "Music of Christmas" and its companion album, "Hallelujah" (a.k.a. "Music of Christmas, Vol. 2") carefully remixed and remastered from the original multitrack tapes and issued on a "twofer" CD, or perhaps a 2-CD set. (If the latter, perhaps you could include both the original 1954 mono recording and the 1959 stereo re-recording of the former album.)

To my ears, Darkness on the Edge of Town is a great sounding recording (even on CD), but I imagine that an SACD, done well, would give even greater impact to those drums on Something in the Night and make Racing in the Street even smoother and more beautiful than it is already. Imagine how raw the vocals on Streets of Fire might sound. I could go on... I think Legacy would shift loads of these with even just a little marketing. Springsteen fans tend to have decent stereos, it's the right demographic.

Bob Dylan was filmed by the BBC on 1st June 1965 at the venue which is now the Shepherds Bush Empire in London. The show was aired in two half-hour slots, presumably because Britain wasn't quite ready for a straight hour of acoustic Bob at that time (and it probably still isn't) on one of the two available channels. Some enterprising people recorded the audio from their televisions when it was broadcast, and the performances are excellent. There have been rumours that it was recorded on good quality film, and that the BBC still have it in their vaults. There are some photos of the performace which look to have two TV cameras in shot, but who knows for sure? A lot of the BBC's recordings were wiped, but they have definitely shown a high quality clip from a Joan Baez performance at the same venue a couple of weeks later, so if nothing else we have hope. Please get involved with the BBC and get them to find this in their archive. This was the last time he played an acoustic concert before the infamous Newport Festival of 1965, so it was a pivotal gig, and it would be extremely exciting to see him playing one more time before he took the leap into a new world.
